NAPROXEN 10% analgesic and anti-inflammatory gel
Composition:
1g of preparation contains 100mg of active ingredient, i.e. naproxen, and auxiliary substances.
Indications:
- posttraumatic muscle and joint pains (bruises, dislocations, strains, etc.);
- joint degenerative changes.
Action:
Naproxen is a preparation for topical use, in the form of gel, of white colour and the odour of menthol.
The preparation contains the active substance – naproxen, which is a nonsteroidal
anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).
The preparation in the form of gel is easily absorbed, and the active ingredient – naproxen – diffuses into underlying tissues reaching the inflammatory focus, where it acts as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent. As a result, the pain and swelling are alleviated, and the physical handicap is overcome. Naproxen produces a pleasant sensation of coolness on the skin, and does not stain clothing.
Contraindications:
Do not use Naproxen:
– if you are allergic to any substance contained in this preparation, or other medicines of similar properties (acetylsalicylic acid, other NSAIDs);
– in the last three months of pregnancy and if you are breast-feeding;
– if you have skin irritation or open wounds.
The preparation should not be used in children under 3 years of age.
Special warnings:
Take special care, if:
– allergic reactions such as rash, reddening or itching occur while administering other non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs;
– you suffer from circulatory failure, renal or hepatic impairment;
– the preparation is administered for a long time and to large areas of the skin.
Mode of administration:
If not recommended otherwise, the drug should be applied to dry and clean skin (the usual dose is about 4 cm of gel); then, spread the gel over the painful area and massage gently until complete absorption.
The preparation should be used from 4 to 5 times daily, most often every several hours.
The preparation should not be used for more than several weeks (most often up to 4 weeks).
Adverse events:
Naproxen is usually well tolerated. In rare cases, local transient skin irritation may be observed.
Storage:
The preparation should be stored in a tightly closed, original package at room temperature (15 to 250C); keep out of the reach and sight of children.
